Upcoming Wajima Exhibition at Millenia Walk

Join us this week for an exhibition showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. The spotlight is on Wajima Kirimoto, a distinguished brand with over 200 years of expertise in wood and urushi lacquerware. Their commitment to innovation and quality is evident in their comprehensive approach to lacquerware production, encompassing design, manufacturing, and sales.

The main feature of this exhibition is the exclusive dragon pattern, specially created for HULS in celebration of the Year of Dragon. This intricate motif adorns an elegant pair of chopsticks and sake cups, showcasing the fine techniques. Additionally, a variety of lacquer spoons known for their lightness and smooth texture will be displayed. They are coated with Wajima jinoko, a diatomaceous earth powder collected from Mount Komine, which provides exceptional heat insulation and a luxurious mouthfeel. Beyond these items, the exhibition also includes placemats, trays, and chopstick rests.

As we continue to support the artisans of Wajima in the aftermath of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, we invite you to delve into the world of lacquerware and discover its versatility in everyday life. Your participation contributes to the ongoing efforts to rebuild and preserve this traditional craft.

Join us and experience the timeless beauty and functionality of Wajima products.
