New Artist Introduction: Tomoyuki Hoshino

Born in 1976 in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, Tomoyuki Hoshino left the corporate world to fully embrace a life shaped by clay. Since 2007, he has worked independently from his studio in Kokubunji, Tokyo.

Hoshino is among the rare few artists who work with both ceramics and porcelain in the same studio. Each material is handled separately to preserve its distinct character. He uses Shigaraki clay for ceramics and a blend of Kyushu and Seto clays for porcelain, with all pieces fired in electric kilns.A soft pink flows through his work, symbolizing his inner self and giving form to the quiet, often unspoken emotions of daily life.

We are excited to present a mini exhibition featuring Tomoyuki Hoshino’s extraordinary pieces. Available in limited quantity from 18 July. Experience them in person at our Duxton Hill Gallery.
