Mr. Hiroshi Taruta was born in 1987 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. He graduated from Advanced Course in Ceramics at the Aichi Prefectural Seto Pottery Senior High School, and apprenticed under Mr. Masanori Hatano. The style of Mr. Taruta’s works is elegant and refined. The light-transmitting effect created by filling the cut marks on white porcelain with transparent glaze (the hotaru-de technique), the smoothness of seihakuji (blue and white porcelain glaze）and the interplay of clean lines express the beauty of landscape and nature.
