Born to a family of potters in Kyoto, Mr. Nobuyuki Kimura studied Ceramics at the Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute and was also taught by his father Mr. Morinobu Kimura. His works are characterised by his unique, expressive colour glazes through repeated blending and test-firing. Since his debut in 1990, Mr. Kimura’s ceramic works have been showcased at the Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition several times over the years. In 1999, he became a full member of the Japan Kogei Association. His works won an award at the second Contemporary Tea Pottery Exhibition in 2000.
