Mr. Syo Fujita was born in 1978 in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture. He graduated from Bizen Ceramics Centre in 1999 and studied under Ceramic artist Mr. Kazuya Hashimoto for 5 years. His works were exhibited in New York (2014), Paris (2017 and 2018), and Taipei (2017). He opened BIZEN gallery “Kai” in Imbe, Bizen City in 2019. Mr. Fujita conveys the charm of yo-no-bi (which means beauty in everyday objects) of Bizen ware through his works. One can catch a glimpse of the artist’s creativity beyond the traditional Bizen style through the simple yet sophisticated forms.
