Mr. Takashi Baba, the eldest son of Bizen ceramic artist Mr. Shosuke Baba, was born in 1983. He studied Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2012, he completed a monument for the front of JR Bizen Katakami Station. His works are also exhibited overseas, including London, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Taiwan and the Philippines. Mr. Baba pursues his unique forms of “objets d’art that can be used” in a wood-fired kiln with various colors and Bizen techniques in an unglazed Yakishime style. He approaches the earth materials with an open and curious spirit, drawing out its charm while trusting in the power of nature.
