Mr. Takeshi Imaizumi was born in Saitama in 1978. He began making pottery while studying at Waseda University. He then further studied at Tajimi City Ceramic Art Design Institute in Gifu Prefecture, and upon completion, he established his own studio in Saitama. Mr. Imaizumi specializes in making celadon, ice crackle and Tenmoku ware which were introduced from China 800 years ago as the Song Dynasty’s highest level ceramic artworks. His works were highly valued and exhibited at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and other major art galleries in Japan.
