Mr. Takeyoshi Mitsui was born in 1987 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He developed an interest in glass making in university. In 2009, he was awarded the Mayor price at the 4th Contemporary Glass Art Exhibition in Sanyo Onoda. After his Master studies, he worked for Toyama Glass Studio. Mr. Mitsui created the “Silence” series to use various colours and his own interpretation of these colours through his colour blindness. The “Silence” series carries a beautiful and tranquil expression of softly coloured glass and delicate engraving, “to create a soft appearance from the hard glass”. With the opportunities that this series brought him, he became an independent glass artist in 2016.
